The hotel will boast a restaurant which is set to become the capital’s new culinary destination

The much-anticipated Amyth of Nicosia hotel is expected to welcome its first guests on Friday, 28 March, offering a different hospitality experience within the walled city of Nicosia.

The launch of the new hotel, which is owned by Thanos Hotels & Resorts Group, is expected to showcase a different side of Cyprus and revive interest in the old town, encouraging visitors to discover the authentic Cypriot culture and rich heritage of the island and especially the capital.

Located within the Medieval-era Venetian walls, at 29 Patriarch Gregoriou Street, near the Archbishopric and the Hadjigeorgakis Kornesios Mansion, Amyth of Nicosia harmoniously meshes with the area’s special character. This elegant and fully renovated mansion, which used to be a college, has been transformed into a gem of a boutique hotel. It will feature ten refined rooms and suites, a courtyard restaurant, and a bar. Nightly rates start from €350.

The hotel’s interiors date back to the early 1900s and still feature the traditional details of the era. The original flooring, the grand and imposing staircase and the meticulously curated décor enhance the hotel’s charm and aristocratic elegance. The architecture of the project was undertaken by Eraclis Papachristou, while the interior and exterior design was completed by Maria Neophytou.

The hotel’s restaurant, which is expected to become the capital’s new culinary sensation, serves refined-dining dishes, creating a charming atmosphere and dining experience. The hotel’s Chef, Andrew Michael Smith, under the guidance of the Group’s Executive Chef, David Goodridge, draws inspiration from Mediterranean recipes, with retouched dishes made with the finest ingredients, while maintaining the Group’s high standards.

For the Thanos Hotels team, good food is made with love, through a unique and timeless collaboration with local producers, creating dishes that tell a story. From a hearty breakfast to seafood, crisp salads and carefully crafted vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options, the restaurant’s all-day menu is both fresh and bold.

With Amyth’s philosophy of embracing a sense of curiosity and adventure, including food, the restaurant of Amyth Nicosia offers a special experience in a space where the warmth of refined- dining meets the sense of familiarity and the unexpected. Recipes using locally sourced organic ingredients are re-imagined so that every meal invites guests to discover something new, allowing them to feel inspired with every bite.

The restaurant is an ideal choice that can accommodate up to 100 people both indoors and outdoors, while the hall located right across the restaurant has a capacity to host 15-30 people, depending on the layout.

The restaurant’s opening hours are 07:00 – 10:00 for breakfast, 12:30 – 15:30 for lunch and 19:00 – 22:30 for dinner, while an all-day menu is also available.

The Amyth Hotels philosophy

Amyth of Nicosia joins the Amyth Hotels collection by Thanos Hotels & Resorts, a boutique chain dedicated to creating immersive travel experiences that inspire exploration, authenticity, and open-mindedness. Discovery lies at the heart of the Amyth experience, with the brand already operating two boutique retreats in Mykonos. The concept revolves around offering a “sanctuary” where guests can uncover “hidden treasures,” whether through adventurous exploration of the destination or through moments of personal reflection. Authenticity is a cornerstone of Amyth Hotels’ identity, honouring the heritage and character of each location while reflecting its uniqueness in the hotel’s design and services.

Thanos Hotels and Resorts Group

The Group began its journey in the luxury hospitality sector in Cyprus 50 years ago, earning the title of a leading group. It rose to prominence through the creation of iconic hotels and resorts, which modernised the Cypriot tourism product, as well as through the transfer of know-how and expertise through Hotel Management services, for the management and development of real estate and hotel units. In particular, the Hotel Management unit is the Group’s new autonomous business unit, offering added value to both customers and investors.

Today, Thanos Hotels and Resorts Group owns three internationally acclaimed luxury resorts in Cyprus: Anassa, Annabelle and Almyra. In 2023, the Group launched its entry into the Greek luxury hospitality market with the first two hotels – Amyth of Mykonos Agios Stefanos and Amyth of Mykonos Super Paradise, while simultaneously presenting an investment plan for its expansion, aiming to operate new hotel units in Greece. The Group’s next major projects through Hotel Management services include the development and reopening of the historic Berengaria Hotel in Prodromos, and the revival and development of the iconic Palm Beach Resort, in Larnaca.
